In life it very important that there are motivation and consistency in the meaning we attach to it, and through Ivan Ilych, we get reminded of an important thing that a life not lived in the best way, is a life wasted. Ivan led his life in a way with which he was never satisfied and he didn’t do anything that he liked but rather those that would be expected him. Whether his marriage or his conduct towards others, all was the same, without emotion, and it was only his work that he gave importance and felt connected to, and therefore, gave it importance more than even his family.
